Our Trip to Packwood Washington

A few weeks ago, our family took a little trip down to Packwood Washington. I Found this cute little town when searching for places to stay next to the beautiful Mt. Rainier. Of course, we stayed in an Air BNB. My favorite way to stay. So, Lets dive into our trip. I think after seeing these pictures your going to want to book your next family getaway to Packwood.

When looking at a map of Washington, you will notice that Packwood, Washington is a small town along Route 12 (White Pass Highway) in Mt. Rainer National Park. Our family took this trip in the Fall which I highly recommend. The leaves on the trees were changing colors and it was just so beautiful. Views I will keep in my memory for life.

WHERE WE STAYED WHEN VISITING

I have stayed in a few Air BNBs in my lifetime but this maybe my favorite. This Air BNB is listed in Packwood Washington under the name Love Shack. From the front porch we had amazing views. Our cabin was comfy and cozy. It had beautiful touches such as a full kitchen, hot tub, wood burning stove, fire pit, and three places to sleep. It did get a little cold in the cabin but the wood burning stove made it perfect. Our cabin was the perfect place to stay.

As always DM me on Instagram ( @mamaandarmylife ) or email me at mamaandarmylife@gmail to get my coupon code for $40 off your first stay with Air BNB. Good for any Air BNB.

THINGS TO DO

Mountain Goat Coffee Co.– Coffee is always a must for us in the morning and its always fun to try local coffee shops when traveling. When pulling into this cute coffee shop you can tell right away it’s a popular morning stop for the locals. We were greeted with smiling faces from the locals and the coffee shop owners. I ordered and loved their standard Latte and my kids enjoyed some warm hot coco. They also have yummy baked goods. I highly recommend their blueberry cream cheese pinwheel.

Packwood Brewing Co.- This was a fun little family stop. Many brewing companies are not family friendly, but we found this was very welcoming to children. The place was filled with several other families. The wood fire burning was not the only thing that made you feel warm and cozy when entering. This was another spot that the locals and owners welcomed you with a smile.  There food menu changes during the seasons but we truly enjoyed there Oktoberfest spread. We ordered one of everything on there menu. They had tons of games you can play with your family or friends. We enjoyed a game of Yahtzee. My husband and I split their beer flight. I am not picky when it comes to beers and truly enjoyed every single one. Highly recommend stopping in food, beer, or just good company.  You can also check out this fun stop on their Instagram page. @Packwoodbrewingco

Hiking– Packwood is in Mt. Rainier National Forest and so close to numerous fantastic hiking trails. Since we had our kids, we picked an easy hiking trail. We put the two babies in the Tula and then our six-year-old hiked alongside us. I suggested above to go during the fall months, but if you do this pack for cold weather. During our hike it got cold and we even enjoyed some snow! We loved it but this might not be everyone’s cup of tea. These hikes are also very pretty in the summer months. More hikes are also open during the summer months, some were closed because the ice and snow. We hike the trail Grove of the Patriarchs trail. It was a very beautiful and an easy hike.

Sadly, we did not get the chance to try this restaurant out, but it was highly recommended from the locals. Josie’s Family Italian Restaurant. We mostly cooked out in our cabin during our stay. We were also told to call a head for reservations.

Another Fun thing to do during the winter and end of fall is skiing. It is very close to White Pass.

On our drive back home we got the chance to stop at so many beautiful places. Lots of great views along our route. If you have the time pull over and take in all the beauty that Washington has to offer.

We had the best time on our little family getaway and so glad we choose to use Air BNB for our stay. Thanks for following along on our adventures and I can’t wait to share another adventure soon!
