The last few weeks I have been thinking on a service project to do with my family during the holidays. I recently saw another blogger who put a coat drive next to her free library and it inspired me to do the same.

I quickly ran to Home Depot and grabbed a metal trash can with a tight lid. We always have neighbors stopping by our free library, so I hope this helps encourages others to donate this holiday season. The coat drive will be placed outside every morning and taken inside every night. We will be taking the coats to a local homeless shelter’s over the next few weeks.

We will be collecting new and used hats, coats, scarves, and mittens. Any size and gender are welcomed to donations. In the Tacoma Washington area were we currently live we have lots of homeless people. I hope with this coat drive we can keep a lot of people warm this year.
If your local to the Tacoma Washington/ Joint Base Lewis McChord area, we would love the donations for our Coat Drive. For friends and family who are not local you are welcome to contact me direct message to chat how you can donate a coat.
Our whole family will be taking donated coats over these next few months to the local shelters in the area. We are hoping through this we can also be an example for our children that the holidays are not about just getting presents but also about giving back to others. Cain seemed very interested in our service project. As a mama this made my heart so happy!
