Atlas, my sweet baby boy, you are ONE!!!! This has been the fastest year of my life. Well to be honest the first year of all my babies was gone in the blink of an eye. Over this last year we have gone through so many changes.

Adding baby number three wasn’t the easiest thing in the world. You were born Christmas Eve and then daddy left 3 weeks after for a short deployment. He has spent 5 months in total away from you which I know breaks his heart. But the months we have spent all together were magical.

On December 23, 2018 I went into the hospital around 6:30 pm to start your induction. You were getting evicted from my uterus. My big baby just was so warm inside and didn’t want to come out even though I was already dilated to almost a 5. My labor was only 7 hours long but the whole time I was waiting for you was filled with so many butterflies. I couldn’t wait to hold my sweet baby boy. My pregnancy with you was filled with lots of worry. I just needed to hold you in my arms to know you were the healthy boy I prayed for.

On your way out your little shoulder got stuck and they had to hurry and get you out fast. The doctor did a wonderful job moving you around to get your shoulder unstuck without hurting or causing any bruising. You came out quiet as can be. Which gave mommy and daddy a little scare. After a few doctors rushed in to check you over they confirmed you were perfect and healthy.

The first time they laid you on my chest I cried like a baby. Your chubby little face was perfection. We were so surprised to have such a chunky boy. The doctors informed us because I had a two-cord umbilical cord and not three, that you would most likely come out small. The doctors all had a laugh after seeing how big you came into the world. 9lbs 10 oz and 21.5 inches.

When you came out you popped your thumb right into your mouth but have never sucked it since that day. One thing that has stayed constant was your love for nursing. I am proud to say baby boy that I have breastfed you for 12 months and counting. It has not been easy, but we did it.

So many fun memories have happened over the last 12 months. I love looking back to see how much you have grown. You’re not such a chubby guy anymore. Your tall and skinny like your dad. You were a handful in your early months. Waking up 2-5 times a night till you were about 6 months old. You just couldn’t get enough of nursing! Around 7 months you let mama sleep a little bit more!

You’re such a traveled boy for only being a year old. Here is a list of all the places you have been thus far.
